Derick Ogbu (born March 19, 1990 ) is a Nigerian soccer player . The striker has been without a club since August 2017.

Career

Ogbu joined Umm-Salal SC in Qatar in 2010 . In the summer of 2011, the Belgian first division promoted Oud-Heverlee Löwen signed him . There he contributed ten goals in 23 appearances to keep the league in the 2011/12 season . In the 2012/13 season he and his team reached tenth place and then the final games of the play-offs, but missed the Europa League qualification . Then CFR Cluj brought him into the Romanian league 1 . There he finished the 2013/14 season with his new club qualifying for the Europa League . Shortly thereafter, he moved to Liaoning Hongyun in the Chinese Super League . In Liaoning he was a regular player and fought with his club to stay in the class. In March 2016, Ogbu moved to Ventforet Kofu in the Japanese J1 League . The first half of the season in 2016 , he finished with his team second from bottom. At the beginning of the second half series, he was no longer used and at the end of August joined the Hungarian first division club Debreceni VSC . There he came only five times in the 2016/17 season . He has been without a club since August 2017.
