Derrick James (boxer)

Derrick James (born January 23, 1972 ) is a former American boxer in the middle and light heavyweight division and current boxing coach.

Coaching career

The year 2017 has so far been James' most successful Coach of the Year - he made, among other Errol Spence world champion of the Association IBF in the welterweight (Spence defeated in late May of that year the British Kell Brook in the football stadium Bramall Lane in Sheffield by classic knockout in round one) and helped Jermell Charlo to defend his WBC world title, won in 2016 in the fight against John Jackson, twice by classic knockout (on April 22nd it was Charles Hatley who was severely knocked out in the 6th round and on October 14th Erickson Lubin , who was knocked out in the 1st round).
