The Derrick Point (of English derrick , derrick ' ) is a headland on the west coast of the Antarctic Ross Island . At Cape Royds it is located between Backdoor Bay and Arrival Bay .
At this point of land, participants of the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909), led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, used a loading pole for the landing of provisions and equipment.
