Dersingham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk . The village is approximately 12 kilometers north of the city of King's Lynn and 70 kilometers northwest of the city of Norwich .
The parish has an area of 14.5 m² and the 2001 census recorded a population of 4,502 in 2,110 households. In terms of local government, the parish is part of the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk .
Sandringham House , a favorite holiday home for Elizabeth II and several of her predecessors, is south of Dersingham in the parish of Sandringham . Elizabeth II attended Dersingham Infant School to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee on February 6, 2012.
The nearby Dersingham Bog National Nature Reserve , managed by English Nature , is home to marshland around heather and woodland. Birds like the black siskin , the crossbill , the long-eared owl , the tree pipit , the sparrowhawk and the nightjar can be found here.
