Detlef Bojak

Detlef Bojak (born August 6, 1935 in Greulich , Silesia ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After finishing secondary school in 1953, Bojak completed an apprenticeship in carpentry and as a draftsman and then studied until 1959 at the Palatinate engineering school in Kaiserslautern . He worked as a civil engineer until 1966 before he became a teacher at a vocational school in Kusel . For decades, he volunteered for the Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland regional association of the German Youth Hostel Association , of which he is honorary president to this day.

politics

Bojak occurred in 1964, the SPD and was in the council of Jettenbach selected. In 1969 he became a member of the district council of the Kusel district , in which he chaired the SPD parliamentary group from 1973 to 2004. Since 1971 he has been an alderman for Jettenbach. From 1973 to 1992 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district Kusel. In 1971 he became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament , to which he was a member until 1996. There he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1981 to 1991 and then deputy chairman of the parliament until he left parliament.

Honors

Bojak was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1987 and the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1997. In 1996, the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate awarded him the title of Economic Council. The SPD Kusel appointed Bojak honorary chairman in 2005. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him with the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
