Detlef Kleindiek

Detlef Kleindiek (* 1956 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

He studied law in Marburg and Bonn (1983 second state examination in law ). After working in legal practice and obtaining his doctorate in 1990, he was a research assistant at the Institute for German and European Company and Business Law at the University of Heidelberg from 1990 to 1996 . After his habilitation in 1996, he was appointed to the chair for civil law, commercial law, German and European business law at Bielefeld University in 1997 . He is a member of the board of directors of the Institute for German, European and International Business Law and was Dean of the Faculty of Law 2003–2005.

His main research interests are corporate law, insolvency law and accounting law.
