The Evangelical Lutheran , listed village church Langenschade is located in Langenschade , a district of the Unterwellenborn community in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district of Thuringia . The parish Lange shame belongs to the parish Kirchhasel in Kirchenkreis Rudolstadt-Saalfeld the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The church was donated before 1057 by Queen Richeza , the owner of the Orlagaus. But it was first called a church in 1071. The western lower parts of the tower date back to the 13th century. The current church was built in 1480, but rebuilt again in 1750. It was renovated in 1817 and 1874.

description

The rectangular, plastered hall church has the square steeple to the west. On the southern wall of the tower there is an extension for the foyer , which is entered through a portal . The nave is covered with a hipped gable roof . The tower has a slate - roofed eight - sided tower with a dome crowned by an open lantern . The interior has circumferential, two-storey galleries with marbled parapets in ocher and blue tones. It is covered with a wooden barrel vault. The pulpit altar from 1731 is decorated with carvings. To the side of the altar are life-size carved statues of John the Baptist and Moses as caryatids for the pulpit . The organ is located above on the gallery . It has 16 stops , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , and was built in 1886 by Carl Lösche. The church furnishings also include a baptismal angel from the 1st half of the 18th century. The remains of a relief from a late Gothic altar with the Annunciation and the Adoration of the Kings is z. Currently outsourced.
