Detlef Kuhlbrodt

Detlef Kuhlbrodt (born August 25, 1961 in Bad Segeberg ) is a German author and freelance journalist .

Detlef Kuhlbrodt studied general and comparative literature , religious studies and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin .

Kuhlbrodt's first publication appeared in 1986 in the book Young People Measure Their Expectations, edited by Ingeborg Drewitz , and the yardstick is no longer right - the challenge: death. In the late 1980s he began writing for the daily newspaper taz . For a short time he was a permanent employee of the Spiegel . In the 1990s he was one of the authors of the magazine Der everyday life published by Walter Keller and Michael Rutschky : The sensations of the ordinary . Kuhlbrodt's texts appear primarily in the taz, but also in Die Zeit , Spex and numerous other media. In 2008 he received the Ben Witter Prize on the grounds that he had "revived the classic art of the feature pages". In a book review Frank Schäfer described him in the Tagesspiegel as a “classic columnist ” and “genuine newspaper writer” who is a chronicler of Berlin . Kuhlbrodt runs a blog at Suhrkamp Verlag .

So far, Kuhlbrodt has published two books, both with Suhrkamp Verlag.
