Detlef Webers (born September 13, 1949 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The striker Detlef Webers began his career at the age of ten with Wuppertaler SV . In 1968 he made his debut in the first team, which was then playing in the second-rate Regionalliga West , where he quickly became a regular. In 1972 Webers became champions with the Wuppertal and contributed 15 goals to the title win. In the following round of promotion, the WSV was promoted to the Bundesliga . Webers made his Bundesliga debut on February 3, 1973 in the 2-2 draw of the Wuppertal at VfL Bochum . His first Bundesliga goal followed on May 26 in a 5-0 win against MSV Duisburg . After eight Bundesliga games and one goal, Webers moved to regional division Arminia Bielefeld in the summer of 1973 .

Webers scored eight goals in 31 regional league games for Arminia and qualified for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . He then returned to Wuppertal, but remained there without a job. Webers then moved to 1. SC Göttingen 05 , for which he scored five goals in 19 games. In the summer of 1975 Webers moved to Belgium and joined the third division club KAS Eupen , with whom he was promoted a year later and relegated again a season later. In the summer of 1979 he then moved to the first division club KV Kortrijk , with whom he was relegated two years later.

Detlef Webers now moved to the North American Soccer League to the San José Earthquakes , but returned to KV Kortrijk after the end of the season. At the end of the season, Webers and his team made it to the top division and then ended his career.

At the end of the 1980s, Webers was active as a player-coach at the Remscheid district league club SSV Bergisch Born, with whom he rose to the district league in 1989.
