German Society for the History of Pharmacy

The German Society for the History of Pharmacy (DGGP) is a registered association organized scientific society for the promotion and maintenance of the history of pharmacy based in Berlin . A statutory goal is the " research into the history of pharmacy and pharmaceuticals as well as the pharmaceutical sciences". The DGGP, which is divided into 18 regional groups, supports young researchers , organizes congresses and is the editor of scientific publications. The DGGP is a member of the International Society for the History of Pharmacy (IGGP).

history

The German Society for the History of Pharmacy was founded in 1926 from the Society for the History of Pharmacy indicate that gave themselves in 1929 an international orientation. After the Second World War and the reorganization, the German national group, the largest national group from the start, published the journal Geschichte der Pharmazie as early as 1948 , as well as the newsletter of the International Society for the History of Pharmacy , which was published by the Deutsche Apotheker Verlag as a supplement to the Deutsche Apotheker Newspaper appears. In 1966 the DGGP gave itself its own statutes, which were revised in 1996.
