history

The first election to the Sabah Legislative Assembly took place in 1967. The assembly met from 1967 to 1980 in the old parliament building on the Bukit Istana Lama hill , where the Sabah Museum is now located . From 1980-1995, the seventh floor of the Sabah Foundation Building housed the congregation. From July 1995 a new parliament building was built on a 38 hectare property in the Likas district. The cost was around EUR 30 million.

Constituencies and constituencies

Based on the 2008 elections, the map shows the constituencies in Sabah, which are marked with an 'N' in front of them. The prefix 'P' denotes the constituencies for the all-Malaysian parliamentary elections. Due to the popular change of electoral districts and districts before an election, the following overview map may no longer be applicable in the future.

According to the state constitution, elections to the state parliament take place every 5 years. They will be held at the same time as the elections to the Malaysian parliament.
