Dexter Tyrone "The Blade" Jackson (* 25. November 1969 ) is a professional, American , IFBB - bodybuilders from Jacksonville , Florida . He is married and has three children.

Life

He was nicknamed "The Blade" by Ed Parriso because of his razor-sharp muscle division.

On September 27, 2008 Jackson had his greatest success. He won the title of Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas on his ninth participation .

After a successful year of competition for Jackson, he beat reigning three-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler . Dexter Jackson is only the twelfth athlete to win this title. He is also the fourth competitor to beat a reigning Mr. Olympia while attempting to defend his title.

Born the second of six children, he laid the foundation for his career in various sports in his youth. He trained among other things American football , karate and baseball . Jackson began bodybuilding in 1990 in Jacksonville. He was the first bodybuilder to win the overall championship in Florida as a bantamweight .

He made his professional debut in 1999 at the Arnold Classic with a seventh place. In 2005, 2006, 2008, 2013 and 2015 he was able to win this highly endowed competition.

Jackson celebrated further successes at the Grand Prix of England 2002, the Show of Strength Pro Championship 2003, the Grand Prix Australia 2004, the Ironman Pro Invitational 2004, the San Francisco Pro Invitational 2004, the Australian Pro Grand Prix VIII 2008 and the New Zealand Grand Prix 2008.
