Dezmond Dez (* 1980 in Bern ; real name Cyril Bucher ) is a Swiss dialect rapper .

biography

Dezmond Dez has a mother from Haiti , but was born and raised in Bern herself . He began writing lyrics in the late 1990s and teamed up with friend Tommy Vercetti to produce rap songs together. With their two mixtapes Cheftape 1 and 2 they first drew attention in 2003. In particular, they encountered the interest of the German rapper Kool Savas , who supported Dez with his own label and the Swiss subsidiary Optik Schweiz and, with him and others, invented the mixtape Wer hatz? which was successfully released in Germany and Switzerland in 2005.

The following year the solo mixtape Haitian Voodoo by Dezmond Dez followed before he recorded the head tape 3 with Vercetti. Then both teamed up with Manillio and from 2011 with the rapper CBN and performed together successfully as Eldorado FM .

It was not until 2013 that Dezmond Dez, who studies literature and philosophy alongside music, finished his first real album. Verlornigs Paradies was published in March of that year and reached number 16 on the Swiss charts . In the same year the album Glanton Gang was released together with Tommy Vercetti, which even reached number 12.
