Dialnet (own spelling also: DIALNET ; acronym for Spanish Servicio de difusión de alertes en la Red , in German: notification service in the Internet; further name: Servicio de Alertas y Hemeroteca Virtual de Sumarios de Revistas Científicas Españolas ) is the largest bibliographic database for social - and essay literature in the humanities in Spanish . It has been operated by the University of La Rioja since 2001 . The sponsor is the Fundación Dialnet , a foundation under Spanish law that was founded in February 2009 and is located at the university.

The multilingual portal lists volumes and tables of contents of scientific journals , monographs and university papers published in Spain , with references to libraries that hold the respective title in their holdings. Some of the documented works are to be used in full text . In the summer of 2018, according to the database information system, over 10,200 journals and over 146,000 dissertations were identified, a total of over 6 million documents.

The data from Dialnet are freely available over the Internet . Registered users also have free access to notifications about the tables of contents of newly published magazine issues (so-called TOC alerts ). There is also the Dialnet plus service with additional chargeable functions. The dialnet IDs of authors or publications are also recorded in the open data portal Wikidata .
