Diobelonella palustris ( syn. : Palustre Dichodontium , Dicranella palustris ) is a moss - kind from the family Aongstroemiaceae and the only species of its genus Diobelonella .

features

The moss forms soft, yellowish-green to green, easily crumbling lawns up to 10 centimeters in size. The sparsely bent back leaves are narrowed from the upright, broad-sheathed base into a blunt point, flat and entire margins with often a crenulated leaf tip, have a thin rib ending in front of the leaf tip and elongated rectangular leaf cells. The red seta is up to 3 centimeters long, the spore capsule high-backed, egg-shaped and inclined. The species is diocesan . Often rhizoid gems are formed.

Location claims and distribution

The species avoids lime and grows in cold locations in spring meadows, spring bogs or at the edges of streams and ditches. It is common in the northern hemisphere. In Central Europe, it is mainly found in the Alps and the higher low mountain ranges, but only very rarely in the flatlands.

Systematics

By AJE Smith (2004) the species previously called Dicranella palustris was incorporated into the genus Dichodontium (as Dichodontium palustris ). Following the Stech & Frey system, the species is the only one to be included in the newly created genus Diobelonella .
