Reviews

Dragon Inn is an almost flawless cinematic piece. The storyline is simple and clear. The cinematography was poetic and exhilarating. King Hu's knowledge of Chinese cultural history was shown by the authentic sets - they were so real as if they were antiques. "( James Chang , German:" Dragon Inn is an almost flawless film. The story is simple and clear. The cinematography was poetic and intoxicating. King Hu's knowledge of Chinese cultural history was shown through the authentic sets - they were as real as antiques . ")

“An early work by King Hu that is not yet able to establish the reference to the Chinese mentality, tradition and philosophy that is so remarkable in his later films. The artistic choreography of the fight scenes is certainly impressive, but they are strung together hard and sensational for their own sake. "
