Librarian Maren and Baumschneider Robert, both single parents, meet after an internet appointment at a motorway service station somewhere in Germany. The unequal couple found a blended family together. Everything seems perfect until Maren catches her daughter Mira in bed with Robert's son Daniel. As the love of the parents breaks down, the love of the children continues to solidify. The film reaches its climax when the children tell their parents that they want to get married and emigrate. The parents' love breaks completely and the younger couple also split up after a short time. While Mira and her friends move into a shared apartment and Daniel emigrates, the parents Robert and Maren dare to start over together a long time after their separation.
