The School of Little Vampires is an Italian-Luxembourgish-German 104-part cartoon series from 2006 based on the children's book series of the same name by Jackie Niebisch .
action
The school for little vampires , which is attended by six students, is located in a creepy castle near a small town . The main character of the series is Oskar, from whom a lot is expected as the nephew of the headmaster Count Alerich von Horrificus. But the young vampire cannot see blood without fainting. To do this, the vampires must always beware of the self-proclaimed vampire hunter Paulus Polidori, whose granddaughter, Sunshine, is Oscar's best friend.
main characters
Oskar von Horrificus: Oskar is a young vampire who goes to his uncle's school. He is very attentive and polite. But he cannot see blood and is in love with the human girl Sunshine. He is the nephew of Count Alerich von Horrificus.
Gruftin Gruft: A friend and classmate of Oskar. She's also the only girl in school. She always invents magic potions, but they never work as they should. She seems to be jealous of the relationship between Oskar and Sunshine.
Tinto: This vampire is a real tech specialist who approaches everything from the scientific side. He also often seems a bit distracted.
Klott: Klott is the young vampire's “chick” and often does not recognize the seriousness of a situation. Nevertheless, he conquered all hearts with his cute, naive manner.
Fletscher: He's Oskar's rival because he thinks he's the greatest vampire of all time. He always shows off powerfully, but is a scaredy in an emergency. Any means is fine for him to become famous. Apparently he's interested in Goths.
Ashley: He's a vampire who's been roasted into a pile of ash by the sun. He has little to do on the show, but he used to be a good dancer. Now Klott often pushes him around in a doll's pram.
Count Alerich von Horrificus: The headmaster and Oskar's uncle is a very talented vampire who has mastered the art of hypnosis and shadow tricks perfectly. According to the suggestion of Lady Kryptina, he was in love with a human girl in his youth, but this is not explained in more detail. Lady Kryptina seems, as Gothine does for Oskar, to have kept Count Alerich's secret.
Archibald Oxford: He is the teacher of the young vampires. He is a strict but fair teacher. He is often a little absent-minded, which in turn makes him appear likeable.
Lady Kryptina: She is a teacher at the school and is mostly responsible for physical exercises. Apparently she was in the same class as Count Alerich. She also falls in love with Paulus Polidori in the Frozen Times episode. There she also indicates that Count Alerich was once in love with someone.
Nestor: Is the good soul of the castle. For many centuries he has been the loyal servant of Count Alerich, the only one of the vampires who was not born a vampire and the butler of the castle. He takes care of everything and can prepare great dishes e.g. B. scream balls or gooeye soup. He became a vampire when he accidentally sat on a vampire bit because nobody wanted to bite him. He was also the "slave" of Polidori's grandfather.
Sunshine Polidori: This young girl is Oskar's great love, which is also mutual. She has no idea that he is a vampire, although his demeanor often amazes her. She often finds her grandfather embarrassed, but she still enjoys being with him.
Paulus Polidori: This vampire hunter is always ready to free the world from the "blood-sucking scum". He's pretty clumsy though, and mostly screws up everything. He suspects vampires behind everything he sees. But he now trusts Oskar completely. In the episode Icy Times, he falls in love with Lady Kryptina.
