Die Sieger is a German silent film melodrama from 1918 by Rudolf Biebrach with Henny Porten in the leading role.

action

Music professor Richard Assing has finally completed his life's work, the opera “Die Sieger”. But before it can be performed, he suffers a stroke . On his deathbed he made his favorite student, Camille Düpaty, promise that the opera would be performed. Camille loves the young singer Konstanze Assing, the dead man's daughter. She promises to marry him if he, too, should have achieved something musically significant that could be measured against her father's life's work.

Then Camille came up with the idea of simply issuing and publishing “Die Sieger” under a different title as his own work. The opera becomes a huge success without Konstanze suspecting of his shameful deception. When her childhood friend Sigmund Freystetter, an experienced music critic, discovered Camille's theft and made it public, Konstanze von Camille turned to Sigmund from time to time.
