Felix Philippi (born August 5, 1851 in Berlin ; † November 23, 1921 there ) was a German journalist , writer and director .

Life

Felix Philippi worked as a journalist in Munich from 1875 ; he wrote as a theater critic for German and French newspapers . He also worked as a director and staged Ibsen's dramas " Ghosts " and " Rosmersholm " at the Augsburg city theater . From 1884 he wrote full-time plays . From 1891 Philippi lived again in his native Berlin . After the success of his youth memories "Alt-Berlin", published in 1913 and 1915 , he wrote a number of novels that were also located in " old Berlin " and were widely distributed; The most successful was the volume "Jugendliebe", which reached a total of 125,000 copies by the mid- twenties .
