The Tuivelsminne was one of the first Austrian medieval scene bands and shaped the development of the genre in Austria.
history
The Tuivelsminne was founded in 1999 by three musicians with the stage names Rabenbrot (Thomas Trifter), Krehpain the Sackpfeifer (Stefan Sanzenbecker) and Arnulf the Schandmaul (Arnulf Zeilner). As usual in the Middle Ages scene, they chose an old-looking term as the band name, whereby the word comes from a quote from Walther von der Vogelweide and means "disappointed love" in the context. The musicians previously appeared solo as minstrels at the first medieval festivals in Austria from the mid-1990s.
The Tuivelsminne is considered to be the first Austrian band from the Middle Ages with its own merchandising. The trademark of the group were the goatskin trousers of the minstrels who, as Austrians, wanted to express an Alpine connection to their own country - but at the same time the Perchten trousers were also an allusion to the namesake. Characteristic of their music were the bombastic bagpipes and the percussion, which were supplemented by instruments such as the bowed psaltery , hurdy-gurdy and shawm.

Reshuffles and dissolution
Shortly after it was founded, it was clear that the drum section should be expanded, especially since Thomas Trifter switched from the Landsknecht drum to melody instruments. This was started by Martin Temper (in the initial phase "the pious Martin", subsequently "the crazy Martin") at Davul, a short time later by Helmut Chang ("the Mongol"), who had studied jazz drums all other drums and percussive instruments. In 2005 Karl-Heinz Krug ("Ziegenbart") was able to win another experienced musician with an enormous stage presence. In the course of the work on the second CD in 2006 and the associated change in the way the band worked, they separated from Thomas Trifter. Arnulf Zeilner left the Tuivelsminne in 2008 in order to be able to fully take care of his family and his project "Die Schandgesellen". Instead of him, Helmut Grabherr ("Blasius the Bladder Weak") was accepted, who had already made a name for himself with the groups Lapis Serpentis, Ebriosi and Wutas. The Tuivelsminne played her last concerts in 2010 at the XVI. Eggenburg time travel to the Middle Ages, on which they had played every year since their foundation. On the XX. Time travel to the Middle Ages Eggenburg the Tuivelsminne performed for the last time in 2014 and played the big evening concert on the main square - as a well-wisher for the anniversary.
