action

Grace de Bernouilly is a passionately loving and self-sacrificing wife. But her husband, Hermann de Bernouilly, a do-it-all, is a gambler and is cheating on her. Grace is even ready to steal for the love of her life. One day she discovered that her friend Amèlie von Sanden, of all people, was her useless husband's lover. Angry, Grace throws her anger in his face and makes it clear to Hermann what she has done for him to constantly save him from his self-inflicted gay life, that she has become a great sinner for the sake of her love. But her husband only laughs at his wife and throws her out of the house. Finally, Grace finds an understanding comforter in the noble Baron von Bärfeld.

criticism

“She's again playing a role with a very personal touch. All woman, full of devotion and self-sacrifice. (...) Henny Porten and her ensemble are playing a first-class social drama that wants to be seen. (...) Hans Hyan wrote a very clever scenario for this detective novel, in which Messrs Steinbeck and Aldor and Miss Manny Ziener deservedly contribute. "
