The little animal show
The small animal show was a Swabian cabaret , founded in 1981 in Heubach by school friends Michael Gaedt , Ernst Mantel and Michael Schulig. Ernst Mantel left the group in February 2009.
Although it was often not understood outside of Baden-Württemberg , as the programs were held in a hard Swabian dialect, as is usual in the Swabian Alb , the group toured throughout Germany and neighboring countries. In addition to the live shows, Die kleine Tierschau produced five of its own television shows for the SDR and SWR with director Dieter Zimmermann . In addition, Die kleine Tierschau appeared in numerous entertainment programs.
history
The first appearances were in the context of street music, but even then the group wanted a lot of props and musical instruments. With Die 3 Tornados , the first general uncertainty and the band Die Ärzte , Die Kleine Tierschau was occasionally seen together. The Small Animal Show was part of most of the socio-cultural theater scene's start-ups from the very beginning. Directly from the street they were hired by Alfred Biolek for his television show Showbühne .
The parent company of the Small Animal Show was the Theaterhaus Stuttgart . All of the stage programs had their premiere there. Die Kleine Tierschau has always managed to integrate the entire theater into the productions.
The group was awarded the Ravensburger Kupferle in 1989.
In February 2009, the small animal show broke up after a dispute over the naming rights and canceled all further appearances. In the meantime, Michael Gaedt and Michael Schulig appeared as a duo under the name Onkel Rock'n'Roll . After a settlement in court, the two are allowed to continue to use the name “Die kleine Tierschau”.
In 2015, the group announced that it would disband in 2016. The last shows took place in January 2016.
