Diego Renan de Lima Ferreira , called Diego Renan , (born January 26, 1990 in Surubim , Pernambuco ) is a Brazilian football player .
Career
Diego Renan was discovered by a scout at Club Cara & Coroa in Surubim and moved to Cruzeiro's youth department when he was 14. Diego Renan made his professional debut on March 27, 2008 in a tie with Ituiutaba in the Campeonato Mineiro . He scored his first professional goal on July 22, 2009 in the Brazilian championship against EC Santo André . In 2010 the player was voted the third best left-back in the Brazilian championship. Diego Renan played his 100th game in the jersey of Cruzeiro on July 29, 2011 in the game at the São Januario stadium in Rio de Janeiro against CR Vasco da Gama .
For the 2013 season, Diego Renan was loaned to Criciúma. On April 14, 2013 he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee while playing in the Campeonato Catarinense . It took him six months to recover after surgery in Belo Horizonte . As a result, he was no longer used in the Brazilian championship that year.
For 2014 Diego Renan was loaned to CR Vasco da Gama to Rio de Janeiro, as he played no role in the plans of the Cruzeiro coach. After another loan to EC Vitória for 2015 and 2016, Renan moved to Chapecoense in 2017 . He left the club again for the 2018 season and went to Figueirense FC, with whom he competed in Série B that year. For the 2019 season Renan moved to league rivals AA Ponte Preta .
