The Diehl Aviation Laupheim GmbH (formerly Diehl Aircabin ), with headquarters in Laupheim in Upper Swabia , works in the field of aircraft equipment and is a member of the Diehl Group . The company has been operating under its current name since October 1, 2008 and today offers system solutions and functions for everything to do with aircraft cabins.

history

Ludwig Bölkow began in 1960 in Laupheim on the edge of a small military airfield with the production of small two-seater powered aircraft. In the years that followed, the location changed hands several times until the location, as an Airbus plant, began to focus on aircraft cabins in 1995 . In October 2008, the factory was taken over by the technology groups Diehl and Thales and integrated into the Diehl Aerosystems subgroup (today: Diehl Aviation ) under the company name Diehl Aircabin . This is where Diehl bundles its predominantly civil aviation activities. In addition to Diehl Aviation Laupheim , this also includes Diehl Aerospace with its headquarters in Überlingen and Diehl Aviation Hamburg (formerly: Diehl Comfort Modules ) in Hamburg. At the end of 2012 Diehl took over Thales' 49% stake in Diehl Aircabin. In April 2018 the Diehl Aerosystems division was renamed Diehl Aviation. This went hand in hand with the renaming of all subsidiaries, with the exception of Diehl Aerospace.

Product range

The company designs, develops and produces cabin linings and overhead lockers for commercial aircraft, individually designed VIP aircraft cabins, rest areas for pilots and flight attendants, and air supply systems. Partners are large aircraft manufacturers, e.g. B. Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier. As a Tier 1 supplier , Diehl Aviation Laupheim develops and produces the interior trim of the cabin, the air conditioning piping and the crew rest area for the A350 . Another business area is the production of high-quality cabin interiors and furniture for VIP and corporate jets .
