Dietenborn is a district of Sondershausen in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

Dietenborn is located between Großberndten in the east, Großbrüchter in the southwest and Kleinberndten in the north, about 13 kilometers west of Sondershausen. The place is located on the south-western slope of the Hainleite in a side valley of the Helbetales . In terms of traffic, Dietenborn is connected via the state roads L 2084 to Sondershausen and L 1033 between Bleicherode and Ebeleben .
history
The settlement was first mentioned in a document in 1104. The monastery Dieterich Born was after the Reformation confiscated by the Count Hohnstein and pledged. It was redeemed in 1701 and then leased as a domain and sold in 1835. Today only remnants of the monastery and its outbuildings can be seen.
