Dieter Bechtold

Dieter Bechtold (born February 22, 1934 in Kiel ) is a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After completing secondary school, Bechtold, who is of Protestant faith, completed an apprenticeship as an electrical machine builder, which he completed in 1957 with the journeyman's examination. On the side he attended evening school and made up for his Abitur. In 1958 he joined the Bundeswehr as an officer candidate , where he initially made it to the position of captain and company commander in Boostedt . After completing the staff officer course in 1968, he worked as a press officer with the rank of major in Hamburg until 1971 . He later became a lieutenant colonel . He was chairman of the Archaeological Society Schleswig-Holstein from 1992 to 1999.

Political party

Bechtold is a member of the CDU. He was district chairman of the Junge Union in the Segeberg district in 1966/67 . Then he was a member of the state board of the Junge Union in Schleswig-Holstein for one year . Since 1970 he was chairman of the defense policy committee of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein.

MP

In 1966/67 Bechtold was a community representative in Boostedt, where he chaired the school and culture committee and was the community's deputy mayor.

Bechtold was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament from 1971 to 1975 and from January 8, 1979 when he replaced Gerd Lausen until the end of the electoral term in May of the same year .
