Dieter H. Scheuing

Dieter Helmut Scheuing (born September 24, 1941 in Stuttgart ) is a German legal scholar and former holder of the Jean Monnet Chair for European Law at the University of Würzburg .

Life

Dieter H. Scheuing studied law in Hamburg , Munich , Tübingen , Paris and Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1973 he received his doctorate from the University of Paris II as Docteur en droit. As assistant to Prof. Otto Bachof , he completed his habilitation in 1978 at the University of Tübingen for public law . From 1978 to 1983 he was Professor of Public Law at the University of Cologne . Since 1983 he has been full professor for German and foreign public law, international law and European law at the University of Würzburg . He retired at the end of the 2006 summer semester.

Scheuing is co-editor of a major commentary on the Federal Immission Control Act and the "IUS EUROPAEUM" series of publications under European law.
