Dieter Harms

Dieter Harms (born December 31, 1935 in Uetersen ) is a German pathologist .

Life

Harms studied from 1956 medicine at the University of Marburg and the University of Kiel (CAU), which it 1962 Dr. med. PhD . After two years as a medical assistant , he went to the Institute for Human Genetics at the CAU as a research assistant in 1964 . With Karl Lennert since 1965 , he completed his habilitation in pathology in 1970. In 1974 he became an associate professor and head of the Institute for Pediatric Pathology. In 1977 he founded the Kiel Childhood Tumor Register. From 1992 to 1994 he was dean of the medical faculty, from 1996 to 1999 prorector of the CAU.

Since his retirement he has been teaching at universities in Russia .
