Dieter Hesselberger

Dieter Hesselberger (born July 12, 1939 in Munich ; † May 15, 2003 ) was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1985 until his death .

After completing his legal training, Hesselberger joined the judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria in 1968 . He was first seconded to the Bavarian Ministry of Justice as a court assessor until 1969 , before he switched to the public prosecutor's office at the Nuremberg - Fürth regional court . Another secondment to the Federal Constitutional Court followed from 1970 to 1973 . From 1974 Hesselberger worked as a judge at the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court . In March 1979 he was appointed judge at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court .

Since his appointment as judge at the Federal Court of Justice in 1985, Hesselberger was a member of the Second Civil Senate , and since March 1992 as its deputy chairman.

Dieter Hesselberger wrote a commentary on the Basic Law that was understandable for laypeople and appeared in 13 editions from 1975 onwards, and together with Gerhard Leibholz and Hans-Justus Rinck, he was the editor of a scientific comment on the Basic Law.
