Dieter Horký

Dieter Horký (* 1943 in Eger , Sudetenland ) is a German visual artist , painter , designer and professional functionary .

Life

Horký grew up in Hamburg and Cologne. In the 1960s he studied fine arts at the Cologne Werkschulen with Friedrich Vordemberge and Karl Marx - and was appointed master class for painting. In 1971 he was appointed lecturer for artistic fundamentals and lectured until the painting course was closed in 1993 (after the establishment of the Cologne Academy of Media Arts ).

Horký works in Cologne as a freelance artist and designer as well as representing the interests of his profession. He was AStA chairman during his studies and chairman of the Professional Association of Visual Artists -NRW (BBK) from 1978 to 1998 and spokesman for the BBK federal board in Bonn.

In the 1960s and 1970s he was a goalkeeper at Cologne EK in the Oberliga , the second highest division in ice hockey at the time . In 1972 he was also one of the co-founders of the Cologne EC , for which he played for a year until it was promoted to the Bundesliga. At that time, Horký designed the club's first logo in which a shark could be seen. Since then, the KEC has also been called "Kölner Haie". In 1973 he moved to Herne to the Herner EV , for which he played another year and where he ended his active career as an ice hockey player in 1974.

He was an expert member of the Culture Committee of the City of Cologne from 1984 to 2004. Horký has been a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council since 1985 , since 1991 a member of the supervisory board of the Filmstiftung NRW and exhibition commissioner for Cologne Art 1 to 7.

In the 1970s he was married to the artist Ulla Horký .
