History of the Sparkasse Pforzheim
The Städtische Sparkasse Pforzheim was founded on November 29, 1834 and opened on February 22, 1835. For almost 100 years, the Sparkasse had its business premises in several private and public buildings. In 1927 the construction of a separate savings bank building in Poststrasse in Pforzheim began on the former "Kiehnleschen property", in 1928 the inauguration took place. The main office of Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw has been located here ever since. The Gemeindesparkasse Niefern was taken over by the Städtische Sparkasse Pforzheim on August 13, 1935 and continued as the main branch and thus the first branch. On February 23, 1945, the savings bank building in Poststrasse was completely destroyed in the air raid on Pforzheim ; the new building took place after the Second World War. Through several renovations, the business premises, main entrance and facade were given a new look.
Stadt + Kreis-Sparkasse Pforzheim was founded on July 1st, 1971. On January 1, 1974, the largest part of the former Kreissparkasse Vaihingen / Enz (Mühlacker and Maulbronn areas) and some branches of the former Kreissparkasse Leonberg (Heimsheim, Mönsheim, Friolzheim) were merged. On January 1, 1975 the Sparkasse Pforzheim took over the districts of Neuenbürg and Birkenfeld from the Kreissparkasse Calw. The district savings bank Königsbach merged with Stadt + Kreis-Sparkasse Pforzheim on January 1, 1979. In 1984, Stadt + Kreis-Sparkasse Pforzheim celebrated its 150th anniversary. In 1995, the extensive, four-section construction project began on the Sparkasse site in Pforzheim. On June 22, 2001, the inauguration of the savings bank tower, the most spectacular part of the building in the renovation project.
History of the Kreissparkasse Calw
The Oberamtssparkasse Calw was officially founded on October 26, 1901. On January 1, 1902, business operations began in the rooms of the Calw town hall. By the district order of January 30, 1934, the Oberamtssparkasse Calw received the designation "Kreissparkasse Calw". On October 1, 1938, the Kreissparkasse Nagold and Neuenbürg were transferred to the Kreissparkasse Calw. In 1962 the foundation stone for the new building of the savings bank building in downtown Calw was laid, the building was inaugurated in 1965. In 2002 the Kreissparkasse Calw celebrated its 100th anniversary.
History of the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw
On January 1, 2003 the Stadt + Kreis-Sparkasse Pforzheim and the Kreissparkasse Calw merge to form the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw. In 2004 the industrial building at Leopoldplatz Pforzheim was rebuilt by the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw. 2005 Opening of the "Jewelery Worlds Pforzheim". The community foundation for the region "With Heart + Hand" was founded in 2007. The inauguration of the new Sparkasse building in Mühlacker and the fundamentally redesigned and modernized Sparkasse in Calw took place in 2008. In 2009 the Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw celebrated its 175th anniversary, in 2011 the 10th anniversary of the Sparkasse Tower. In 2019 it will celebrate its 185th anniversary under the motto: "We are 185 and not 08/15".
