Ulla Horky

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ulla Horký (born Heuel , born March 5, 1950 in Olpe ) is a German multimedia artist.

Live and act

Ulla Horký studied fine arts from 1967 to 1972 at the Cologne Werkschulen (University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design) and in 1975 she became a master student of the painter Karl Marx .

Early on, she combined the “classic” disciplines of painting , sculpture , graphics and photography into new combinations and installations. In the 1980s she became known for her three-dimensional “ body molds ” and “mummy” sculptures and for her oversized painting. In the following years she went on a “search for clues” and reduced her artistic statements more to signs and shapes.

Ulla Horký was married to the artist Dieter Horký . She lives and works in Cologne and Italy . In the 1990s she lived in a partnership with the late Düsseldorf artist Norbert Tadeusz in a shared studio near Castel Fiorentino ( Toscana ).
