Dieter Kränzlein (born February 8, 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a German sculptor .

life and work

Dieter Kränzlein trained as a stone sculptor between 1982 and 1985, he was a student of Franz Dakáy. Since then he has had exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, France and Canada. He lives in Bietigheim-Bissingen .

Kränzlein works primarily with shell limestone from moss near Würzburg and with coarse crystalline marble from Norway. With precisely placed incisions, notches, layers and millings, he creates dynamic, structured sculptures. The stone no longer appears static, but starts to move and the typical attributes of stone as a material “hard and heavy” dissolve. In Dieter Kränzlein's works, the imaginary force evoked by the material is central. The repetitive grids and structures on the shell limestone particularly emphasize a linear and graphic quality, so that the carrier material appears light and floating to the viewer.

At the moment it is in the so-called small bevel.
