Vincent Cadieux

Vincent Cadieux OMI (born February 16, 1940 in Alfred , Canada ) is a Canadian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Moosonee and Hearst .

Life

From 1954 to 1960 Vincent Cadieux attended the School of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (OMI) in Ottawa , entered the novitiate of this religious community in 1960 and studied philosophy at the University of Ottawa and then Catholic theology at the Saint Paul University in Ottawa. He was ordained a priest on December 17, 1966 . From 1967 to 1991 he served in the mission in the dioceses of Amos , Rouyn-Noranda and Timmins .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Moosonee on November 26, 1991 . The episcopal ordination donated him the retired bishop of Moosonee, Jules Leguerrier OMI, on March 29 of next year; Co- consecrators were Peter Alfred Sutton OMI, Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas , and Gérard Drainville , Bishop of Amos .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Hearst on July 13, 2007 . He was named Bishop of Hearst on July 25, 2007, and was introduced to the office on September 28 of the same year.

On February 2, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
