Dieter Läpple (* 1941 in Waiblingen ) is a German urban researcher .

Life

After training as a skilled worker and completing a degree as a vehicle construction engineer, Läpple studied economics and social sciences at the TU Berlin and FU Berlin . He completed his studies with a diploma in economics and a doctorate to become a Dr. rer. pole. from. After working for a long time at the Institute for Sociology of the Free University of Berlin, research activities a. a. to Amsterdam , Paris and Leiden . In 1984 he was visiting professor at the University of Aix-Marseille . Since 1986 he has been university professor for urban and regional economics and from 1993 to 2007 head of the institute for urban and regional economics and sociology at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg . In 1992/93 he was a fellow and visiting professor at the Science Center North Rhine-Westphalia , 1996/97 visiting professor at the chair “Alfred Grosser” at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris ( Science Po ); 2004/05 Research Fellow at the Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg .
