Dieter Muscheid

Dieter Muscheid (born May 15, 1943 in Koblenz ; † March 2, 2015 in Nassau ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Muscheid was a judge at the Koblenz District Court . From 1979 to 1999 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for five electoral terms . In 1991 he won the direct mandate in the Koblenz constituency and represented the districts of Koblenz on the left bank of the Rhine . At the same time, he was also a member of the Koblenz city council and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. In Koblenz he was the department head for the public order office and for fire and disaster control, as well as chairman of the waste disposal company and department head for sport, youth and social affairs. From 1999 to 2007 Muscheid was mayor of Koblenz. In 2010 the SPD local association Lützel honored him for 40 years of membership. After a long and serious illness, he died on March 2, 2015 in a hospital in Nassau.

Muscheid was married and had two daughters and a stepson .
