Dieter Spindler (* 1950 in Göttingen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1999 to 2014 he was the full-time mayor of the Lower Rhine city ​​of Meerbusch .

Life

Dieter Spindler has been a lawyer since 1976 . In 1988 he joined the Düsseldorf law firm Jenckel Skrobek and worked there until he took office as mayor. He is married and has two children. Dieter Spindler is the younger brother of the lawyer Wolfgang Spindler .

Mayor's office

Spindler belonged to the council of the city of Meerbusch and headed the CDU city association. In 1999 he was elected as the successor to Rolf Hapke (CDU) as the first full-time mayor of the city of Meerbusch with 49.93 percent of the valid votes and a turnout of 58.13 percent . In 2004 (with 58.06 percent of the valid votes and a turnout of 59.66 percent) and 2009 (with 49.03 percent of the valid votes and a voter turnout of 57.70 percent) he was re-elected. He did not run for the mayoral election in 2014. His successor was Angelika Mielke-Westerlage (CDU).

In Towns and Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia is Dieter Spindler Member of the Working Group Mittelstadt.
