Dieter Wendling (born December 30, 1954 in Willstätt , Baden-Württemberg ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

Wendling, who accompanied the libero position , started in his hometown of Sand in 1962 and moved to Kehler FV when he was C-youth. At the age of seventeen he played in the first team of FV Kehl (1st amateur league, then the third highest division). Later he played for FV Lahr , Offenburger FV , Sportfreunde DJK Freiburg , Bahlinger SC . As part of his English studies , he played for the Toronto Varsity Blues in 1979 and was Canadian University Champion with the team. Wendling was elected to the Canadian All Star Team in the same year. In 1980 he moved to Kuopion PS in the Finnish first division .

After his career, he acquired the Trainer A license in 1991 and worked as a trainer at SV Oberkirch , VfR Achern , SV Stadelhofen , SC Sand (2nd Bundesliga women). From January 1, 2008 to August 31, 2011, he coached the SV Linx league team . In the summer of 2013 he took over the 1st women's team at SC Sand and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga unbeaten. Since the 2014/15 season he has been the sports director in Sand.
