Dieter Hermann Hans-Joachim von Würzen (born June 24, 1930 in Hamburg ; † January 8, 2003 in Bonn ) was a German administrative lawyer and state secretary .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Osterode am Harz in 1949 , von Würzen studied law at the universities of Marburg and Göttingen . The first state examination he passed in 1953, the second in 1958. For Dr. jur. he received his doctorate in 1960 with a dissertation on "International motor vehicle law: European and worldwide agreements including insurance, tax and customs law".

In 1959 he joined the Federal Ministry of Economics and initially worked as an assistant in the legal department, from which a number of executives emerged. Under Federal Minister Schiller , von Würzen became cabinet advisor and then head of the ministerial office. After Schiller's resignation in 1972, von Würzen was transferred as ministerial director to the management of a subdivision, which also included the legal department. In 1974 he was appointed ministerial director in charge of department IV (commercial economy / business development Berlin). After State Secretary Detlev Rohwedder switched to the private sector, von Würzen followed him in 1979 and retired in 1995 when he reached the age limit .
