Diethard Haas

Diethard Haas (* 1942 ) is a German Christian Democratic politician and former district administrator in the southern Brandenburg district of Finsterwalde .

The Christian Democratic politician is of Catholic faith and was born in the Sudeten area. Shortly after the wartime expulsion of his family from the home had an accident in 1946, his father. In 1956 Haas had to break off a teacher training course he had already started because he did not comply with the invitation to the youth consecration . He then began an apprenticeship as a carpenter and finally completed an engineering degree in Dresden . For professional reasons, Haas came to Finsterwalde in 1966 , where he worked as a production manager in the combine for sawn timber and wood products .

As a result of entering into the GDR on 17 May 1990 in force "law on self-government of municipalities and districts in the GDR (municipal constitution)" was circular Finsterwalde in district Finsterwalde renamed. Haas was elected by the district council to the district administrator of the Finsterwalde district and thus one of the most important regional decision-makers in the post-reunification period , which brought about numerous restructuring in business and administration. His term of office, which lasted until 1994, included the founding of the Albert Schweitzer Senior Center Finsterwalde, Elsternahverkehr and Sparkasse Finsterwalde as well as the construction of the Finsterwalder special needs school .

In December 1993, the district of Finsterwalde went up in the course of the district reform in Brandenburg with the districts of Herzberg and Bad Liebenwerda in the district of Elbe-Elster , whereby Haas resigned from his office as district administrator. Before he retired, he last worked for a Finsterwalder service company for nine years.
