Dietmar Grabotin (born March 28, 1959 in Erlenbach ) is a former German soccer player and coach.

Career

TSV Erlenbach Grabotin began playing football and was in 1974 a member of the student team . After a year-long stint at VfR Heilbronn , he switched to the A-youth team of VfB Stuttgart , with whom he was in the 1977 finals of the German A-junior championship , but which VfB lost 2-1 to MSV Duisburg . In the same year he played for the German youth team at the UEFA youth tournament . In 1979 the defender moved to the 2nd Bundesliga at Alemannia Aachen , for which he completed 181 games (four goals) over the next five years. In 1984 Grabotin was signed by the Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf , where he played a total of 36 Bundesliga games by 1987. He made his debut in the top German division on October 5, 1984 (7th matchday) in the 2-5 defeat against Bayer 05 Uerdingen . From 1987 to 1989 Grabotin played for VfL Osnabrück and made another 38 second division appearances.

In 1989 Dietmar Grabotin returned to the Aachen Alemannia and became the sports director there. The season ended for the club with relegation from the second Bundesliga to the Oberliga Nordrhein . Grabotin then took over the coaching position at the association league club 1. FC Wülfrath , which he led to promotion to the league in 1992 . This was followed by further engagements with upper division clubs from Westphalia and North Rhine-Westphalia, such as VfL Gevelsberg , SC Jülich 1910 and Schwarz-Weiß Essen .

In March 2015 he became the coach of the regional league leaders SSVg Heiligenhaus.
