Dietmar Küblböck

Dietmar Küblböck (born June 8, 1963 in Linz ) is an Austrian trombonist and university professor.

At the age of 14 Dietmar Küblböck began studying trombone with his father Horst Küblböck at the Vienna Conservatory . Four years later, in 1981, he became principal trombonist with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra , where he only stayed for a year until he switched to the Vienna Symphony Orchestra . He ended this engagement after 17 years. Since February 1999 he has been solo trombonist of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra .

He is also a member of the Ensemble Concentus Musicus Wien , the Vienna Trombone Quartet and the Clemencic Consort ; He also played in the Richard Österreicher Big Band and with jazz musicians in the Trombone Odyssey project .

From 1989 to 1992 he had a teaching position for trombone at the pedagogical department of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . In 1997 he took over a guest professorship for trombone at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , where he became a full professor in October 1999 . On July 1, 2002, he finally moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .
