Dietrich Bauer

Dietrich Bauer (born November 12, 1940 in Freudenstadt ; † June 30, 2014 in Bad Boll ) was a German economist , chairman of the supervisory board of the Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart and board member of the German Bible Society .

Life

Dietrich Bauer studied economics and finance in Munich and Heidelberg and graduated in 1963 with a degree in economics . He then worked as an assistant at Heidelberg University for four years. From 1972 he headed the construction department of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg , in 1979 he was appointed senior church councilor and head of the finance and tax department, and from 1993 to 2000 he was a full-time director and bank director of the Evangelical credit cooperative in Kassel .

Bauer held a number of honorary positions. He was chairman of the special committee of the EKD, through which the support of the Eastern regional churches was handled, a member of the financial advisory board and the tax commission of the EKD as well as a member of the finance committee and administrative board of the German Bible Society. He was a member of the administrative board of Paulinenpflege Winnenden, on the board of the student mission in Germany and on the foundation board of the Diakonissenanstalt Stuttgart .

Dietrich Bauer was married and the father of three children.

Awards

In 1995 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his commitment to maintaining and deepening the connection between the Evangelical Church in Germany and the churches in East Germany.
