Dietrich G. Palm

Dietrich G. Palm (born October 1, 1932 ) is a German neuropediatrist and epileptologist .

life and work

After the study of human medicine in Münster , Tübingen and Freiburg graduated from Palm (degree in Münster 1959) his specialist training in Muenster, complemented by a stay at the Institute of Clinical Neurophysiology in Freiburg (with Richard Jung ). In 1969 he completed his habilitation.

From 1973 to 1997 (retirement) he was professor and head of neuropediatrics at the University Children's Hospital in Münster. His successor was his student Gerhard Kurlemann .

Palm was (co-) author of numerous articles in specialist journals and books as well as co-editor of a book.

Awards

Palm was u. a. In 1998 he was awarded honorary membership of the German section of the International League Against Epilepsy (since 2004: German Society for Epileptology ).
