Dietrich Höroldt

Dietrich Höroldt (born December 4, 1927 in Eisleben ) is a German historian and archivist .

life and work

Höroldt grew up in Magdeburg . After studying history at the universities of Berlin, Münster and Bonn, Höroldt received his doctorate here in 1956 through the St. Cassius monastery in Bonn. He then completed his training as an archivist (including at the Marburg archive school ) and initially worked at the Rhineland archives advisory office of the Rhineland Regional Council. From 1965 to 1990 he was head of the Bonn City Archives. Since 1985 Höroldt was also a lecturer at Bonn University .

Höroldt has presented numerous publications on Bonn's city history. In 1979 he received the Federal Cross of Merit .

His daughter Ulrike Höroldt is also an archivist and the director of the Secret State Archives of Prussian Cultural Heritage .
