Dietrich H. Hoppenstedt

Dietrich Hermann Hoppenstedt (born September 16, 1940 in Osnabrück ) was President of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association .

Life

From 1962 to 1971 Hoppenstedt studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . With a doctoral thesis on Christian Ulrich Grupen , he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . Like his father, he became a member of the Corps Hildeso-Guestphalia Göttingen (1963) and the Corps Vandalia Rostock (1968). He then worked as a lawyer. He was managing director of the Water and Soil Association, Lower Saxony State Association. From 1977 to 1979 he was senior district director of the Uelzen district . From 1979 to 1983 he was State Secretary at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests . In 1983 he started working for the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe . He was president of the Lower Saxony Savings Banks and Giro Association . From October 1, 1998 to April 30, 2006 he was President of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association. Until April 30, 2006, Hoppenstedt was chairman of the administrative board of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale . He is married and has three sons.
