Helmut Schleweis

Helmut Schleweis (born August 18, 1954 in Heidelberg ) is a German bank manager and has been President of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association since January 1, 2018 . V. (DSGV).

Life

After graduating from high school , Schleweis completed an apprenticeship as a banker at the Sparkasse in Heidelberg . This was followed by specialist courses at the Sparkassenakademie in Rastatt and Bonn . In 1988 the business economist became a member of the board of directors of Heidelberger Sparkasse and became its chairman in 2002 . From January 2010 until his election as President of the DSGV, he was also federal chairman of the German savings banks.

Schleweis is married and has two children.
