Dietrich Morner

Dietrich Morner (also Dietrich Mörner , † after 1364 ) was a German legal scholar , provost von Bärwalde , Soldin and Bernau and protonotary of the Mark Brandenburg .

Life

He came from the Mörner family from Zellin near Bärwalde in Neumark . In 1355 he was first mentioned in the service of the Margrave of Brandenburg. 1336 he studied in Bologna Law .

In 1349 Morner was provost of Bärwalde, dean of the Collegiate monastery Soldin and owned two altars in the town church of Dramburg. In 1350 he and his brothers Otto and Redekyn received a Freihaus in Berlin from Margrave Ludwig . From that time on he was protonotary (also called chancellor ) of the margrave.

In 1351 Morner was mentioned again as dean of Soldin, and from 1352 he was provost there. In 1353 he became provost of Bernau, which he remained until 1366. During this time he continued to work as a protonotary in Berlin. The year of his death is unknown.
