Dietrich Schade (* around 1455 ; † February 6, 1521 in Münster ) was cathedral dean in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Dietrich Schade came from the Westphalian noble family Schade and was the son of Dietrich Schade zu Hüsten and his wife Christine von Meschede zu Alme . His sister Sophia was married to Heidenreich von Plettenberg. Their son, Heinrich von Plettenberg, was a cathedral scholar in Münster.

Act

Dietrich was first mentioned as the canon of Münster on October 20, 1487. In his capacity as cathedral bursar, documented on October 17, 1502, he was responsible for the economic management of the cathedral chapter . He was elected provost of St. Mauritz zu Münster in 1504. Dietrich was first mentioned as cathedral dean on February 4, 1509. The leadership of the cathedral chapter was connected with this office. Dietrich was archdeacon in Bocholt, Olfen, Lüdinghausen, Senden, Ottmarsbocholt and Vorhelm. He left three children, two sons and a daughter who was married to the cathedral capitular judge Dietrich Lauwermann. After his death - he was the last of his line - his sister Sophia received the Hüsten house, which then became the property of the von Plettenberg family .
